New York is known as the City that Never Sleeps - not exactly surprising for a city that runs on coffee. And as much as we love de-stressing with a steaming bath (then again, we are a bit biased), for the times when an invigorating orange blossom soak isn’t quite enough to wake us up, here are the New York city hotspots that we head to when in need of a fresh cup of café.
If a steaming cup of joe can be called “high fashion” then Intelligentsia is the gold standard. Located in the lobby of The High Line Hotel, this coffee bar was made for lingering. Hang out at the über-chic onyx counter or nibble on a croissant in their quiet courtyard. (Ahh, bliss.)
180 10th Ave, New York, NY
This cool hole-in-the-wall coffee joint sources beans from Intelligentsia (see above) and is ideal for a quick latte run. Bonus points for Dough doughnuts and delicious assorted pastries.
325 Lafayette Street, New York, NY
You may arrive here in a state of fatigue-induced grumpiness, but post-coffee, we promise you’ll be nothing but smiles. (After all, what could be a better pick-me-up?) We love the Chelsea location’s lush exterior, but with outposts around the city, you’re never too far from getting your caffeine fix.

Originally from New Zealand, the founders of this Little Italy shop are all about coffee with an ethical bent. They source their beans from Counter Culture Coffee, are big on recycling/composting, and donate a percentage of profits to Free Arts NYC. (Good coffee that also does good? 10/10.)

The industrial-chic décor and talented baristas (seriously, latte art skills on point here) are only two of the redeeming qualities about this Williamsburg based coffee joint. (P.S. I ran into Alexa Chung here, and it was amazing.)
