To say that we have an obsession with flowers would be an understatement. Pure fragrances derived from Damascus roses, tuberose, Arabian jasmine, and orange blossom are but a selection of the blooms that inspired us to create soaps which make bathing a true luxurious experience. It’s no secret that roses symbolize love and romanticism and sensual tuberose is known as “Queen of the Night”, but what about other varieties like the gardenia, hydrangea, and lavender? Aster symbolizes patience. It also embodies elegance and daintiness.
Carnation symbolizes pride and beauty. A red carnation can represent love, pride and admiration; a pink carnation symbolizes the love of a woman or a mother; a purple carnation symbolizes moodiness, and a white carnation symbolizes innocence and purity.
Chrysanthemum symbolizes fidelity, optimism, joy and a long life. A red chrysanthemum conveys love, and a white chrysanthemum can represent truth and loyalty.
Daffodil symbolizes regard and chivalry. It is indicative of rebirth, new beginnings and eternal life.
Daisy symbolizes innocence and purity. It conveys loyal love and will never tell a lie. (PS - white daisies are the Senteurist’s favorite flower!)
Freesia symbolizes innocence and thoughtfulness.
Gardenia symbolizes purity and sweetness, and joy. They are the botanical embodiment of loveliness and grace.
Hydrangea symbolizes heartfelt emotions. It can be used to express gratitude and understanding. (And another personal favorite!)
Iris symbolizes eloquence. Purple iris is symbolic of wisdom and compliments. Blue iris symbolizes faith and hope. Yellow iris symbolizes passion, and white iris symbolizes purity.
Jasmine symbolizes love, beauty and sensuality. In some cultures, Jasmine also represents appreciation and good luck.
Lavender symbolizes admiration, solitude and beauty.
Orchid is a symbol of the exotic beauty. It symbolizes refinement, thoughtfulness and mature charm. It also symbolizes pride and femininity.
Peony symbolizes bashfulness and compassion. It can also symbolize a happy life, marriage, health and prosperity.
Rose symbolizes love in all its various forms. However, symbolism varies based on color, variety and number.
Sunflower signifies pure thoughts. It symbolizes adoration and dedicated love.
Tuberose is known for its relaxing, warm sensual fragrance and is translated as “night blossom” or “Queen of the Night” in certain languages.
Tulip shows a declaration of love. It also symbolizes fame. (Does this mean they make the best dressing room bouquet?)
